Welcome to Rustic Lodge in Monteverde

Image… waking up in one of our cozy and rustic rooms, far from the city and taking your morning coffee (or tea) on the front porch while the sun spreads over the Monteverde Cloud Forest and warms up the morning.

Rustic Lodge is located in Santa Elena, Monteverde the main village of Monteverde Cloud Forest. We provide daily maid service and fresh linens along with a home-cooked breakfast for each guest.

- Children under 5 years old free of charge. Chidren over 6 to 11 years old 50% fee from room rate. - Cancellation must be received by fax or e mail 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid penalty. Penalty charge is one night. Cancallations for peak season (from Dec 14th till Jan 06) must be send 22 days prior arrival. - Non used nights from original reservation request will be charged in full.

Don Juan Restaurant and Coffee Tour is located just next to Woods Art Galery. All our guests get a 10% discount at the restaurant.

We do recommend Don Juan Restaurant because its exquisite cuisine, latind dishes, and the Cultural Atmosphere. All this elements turns the place as an unique restaurant in Monteverde.

Santa Elena Reserve

The Santa Elena Reserve comprises an area of 310 hectare or 765 acres, and together with the Children's Eternal Rainforest, the Arenal Conservation Area and the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve constitute a contiguous conservation area of approximately 28,000 hectares or 69,000 acres. Plans are underway to raise funds to buy and restore adjacent farmlands for future inclusion into the Santa Elena Reserve. Conservation efforts in the area are concentrating on establishing forest corridors radiating from the central conservation area down to lower altitudes as many of the forest fauna, such as the Resplendent Quetzal, American Pumas, Jaguars, Ocelots, and Red Brocket Deer require large territories in which to forage and breed.

Pioneers of environmental tourism, the Reserve quickly gained world-renown respect for it's extraordinarily rich cloud forest. After 30 years, it continues to serve as an inspirational model of conservation
